Reevaluating

Working on my Masters is bumming me out...

Taking pictures makes me happy...

So why am I spending money and hours and hours and hours working on my Masters and not on becoming a photographer?

Good question!

  1. It's good to think about doing what really makes you happy! What are you thinking? Maybe postponing the masters? Pursuing a degree in photography? I still think you should publish a book of your photos. You have captured some amazing images!

    1. Thanks Jill,

I'm thinking...why am I getting my Masters? I don't plan on teaching forever, I truly want to pursue the photography thing if I can make some money at it...Which will help me more in the long run at this point in my life? Given that I already have a job and I will never get the FT I want so badly at CAA...what's the point of a Masters? The increased pay is pathetic so that is not a motivater...

    2. I think you should do what makes you happiest! You could always give the photography a try and see if you can make it lucrative and if not, come back to the master's classes. Let's go for a walk sometime soon.

  2. I agree with Jill. Life is too short. Do what makes you happy. Do as I say.....not as I do. Obviously!!!

  3. Since you plan on teaching for a while longer I would take at least one more masters class this fall before you make a final decision. You need one more class of some sort to get re-certified anyway so it may as well be one that will apply to your masters degree and who knows you may get that full time job yet which has other percs besides pay.
