Last Tuesday Jeff and I had signed up for a snorkeling trip...
We boarded our boat at 9 and set out for a remote caye...
For a short time we were escorted by dolphins!
I love, love, loved this moment! The dolphins were playing all around the bow of the boat...
It was perfect! We were all excited by the dolphin escort.  Other people on the boat had been going out all week and they said it was the first time they had seen dolphins.

We were supposed to go on Monday but I got sick Sunday night so we cancelled...
It was gorgeous all day Monday and I was so afraid we had missed the perfect snorkeling day...
We were blessed with a perfect snorkeling day on Tuesday!
It was just exactly how I pictured it would be...
The water and sky were amazing shades of blue and the water was so warm I could have swam in it all day without a single goose bump!

After practicing in the pool the day before we were ready to snorkel!

Barracuda! We saw a large school of these guys - but they were just babies...

Manta Ray....

We were very glad we invested in a small waterproof camera...
We snorkeled all morning then the boat picked us up and we went to the Caye for a picnic lunch and some relaxing time before our next snorkeling session

You can rent those little yellow cabanas and stay out on the caye if you want.

The caye was gorgeous and I enjoyed walking around with my camera...

I call this picture "a room with a view"

This Eagle Ray swam right by the dock I was standing on...

This Conch shells were everywhere! I'm sure the local people are amused that people pay for these shells!

I don't remember what this guy was called...he's fancy!

We then headed out for our second tour of the reef...
We absolutely loved it!
We had an awesome guide that would point things out to us and then tell us their names...many I promptly forgot...
And as great as it was to have a camera it was a little stressful to try and get a picture while you are bobbing up and down in the water and the fish are darting about...

It was so relaxing to just lay out on the water face down as your body moved with the water and you could see all of the sea life swaying with you...
I loved just floating and watching what swam by...

Then the boat picked us up and we headed back to our resort.
It was absolutely perfect!
I am so thankful for that amazing day and the entire trip!

Frychik
